The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the country’s leading trade organization, unveiled its new office in the Gulshan area of the capital city today. Salman F Rahman, the Private Industry and Investment Adviser to the Prime Minister, officially inaugurated the FBCCI branch office at the Tower of Aakash on Gulshan Avenue during the afternoon ceremony.

Prominent figures, including former FBCCI presidents Mahbubur Rahman, Abdul Awal Mintoo, Mir Nasir Hossain, Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, and Md. Jashim Uddin, along with other distinguished guests, graced the inauguration event. The President of FBCCI, Mahbubul Alam, presided over the proceedings.

In his role as the chief guest, Salman F Rahman emphasized the significance of the new Gulshan branch office and praised the current board’s efforts in bringing FBCCI’s services closer to the business community. He underscored the role of this initiative in supporting entrepreneurs and fostering business growth, especially in challenging times. Salman also urged entrepreneurs to think innovatively to sustain economic growth and encouraged businesses to increase production. Additionally, he urged FBCCI to focus more on supporting CMSMEs (Cottage, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises).

FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam highlighted the strategic importance of the newly established branch office in Gulshan. He noted that the office would facilitate and expedite essential business interactions for local entrepreneurs, foreign investors, ambassadors from various countries, and other dignitaries. This move is aimed at streamlining FBCCI’s activities and strengthening connections between the business community and international stakeholders. Previously, FBCCI’s activities were primarily centered in Motijheel, requiring foreign guests and ambassadors to spend considerable time traveling for courtesy calls and bilateral meetings. The Gulshan branch office is expected to make such interactions more time-efficient and convenient.

Mahbubul Alam further disclosed plans to open branch offices in old Dhaka and Chattogram to bring FBCCI’s support closer to its General Body (GB) members. Additionally, FBCCI has launched its Innovation and Research Center in Hatkhola, Dhaka, with the aim of establishing FBCCI as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for the country’s business expansion, sustainable industrialization, and readiness for the challenges posed by the fourth industrial revolution (4IR).

The FBCCI branch office in Gulshan, located at Tower of Aakash, Level-9, Plot-54, Road-132, Gulshan Avenue, Dhaka-1212, is well-equipped with facilities such as a meeting room, a board of directors’ lounge, a courtesy meeting room for foreign investors and ambassadors, the president’s room, and office spaces.
