Transactions on DSE drops to below Tk 2,800 crore

DSE block market dividends

The main stock market of the country, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), ended the last week with the price index falling. At the same time, the transaction in the exchange decreased by more than 2 thousand 800 crore takas. This information is known from DSE sources.

According to sources, shares and units worth Tk 7,306 crore 17 lakh 67 thousand were traded in DSE last week. 10 thousand 110 crores 90 lakhs 8 thousand takas were traded in the previous week. That is, in the space of a week, the transactions of 2 thousand 804 crores 21 lakh 41 thousand takas or 27.74pc have decreased in DSE.

The main price index of Dhaka Stock Exchange ‘DSEX’ has decreased by 51.11 points during the week. Currently, the index stands at 6,512 points.

The index of selected companies ‘DSE 30’ is down 35.27 points or 1.49pc in a week at 2,330 points. And the Shariah index ‘DSES’ decreased by 17 points or 1.18pc.

Shares of 396 companies and units of mutual funds were traded on DSE last week. Among them, the price has increased in 61 and decreased in 173. And the price of 152 was unchanged.

Market capitalization also has a negative impact due to a fall in overall market prices. During the week, the market capitalization of DSE decreased by 2 thousand 829 crores 94 lakh 38 thousand 42 takas or 54pc.

At the beginning of the week, the market capitalization on DSE was Tk 522,743 crore 99 lakh 23 thousand. And at the end of the week, the market capitalization of DSE stood at 5 lakh 19 thousand 914 crores 4 lakh 85 thousand takas.
