The catastrophe unfolded when the roof of a sports club collapsed amid heavy rains and strong winds, specifically during a skating competition at the facility, as reported by sources from the mayor’s office. Confirming the unfortunate incident, the municipality’s statement acknowledged the loss of 13 lives at the Bahiense del Norte club.

Firefighters are actively engaged in rescue efforts, attempting to free individuals trapped beneath the rubble. The city experienced wind speeds exceeding 140 kilometers (87 miles) per hour, leading to power outages in certain areas.
