The securities regulator has given its nod to Sonali Aansh Industries, a publicly listed exporter of jute products, to distribute a 100% stock dividend to its shareholders for the fiscal year 2022-23. The announcement was made via a disclosure on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) website on Tuesday. The company is expected to reveal the record and annual general meeting dates shortly.
Sonali Aansh had previously issued a similar 100% stock dividend for the fiscal year 2021-22. According to Company Secretary Md Habibur Rahman, the FY23 stock dividend is derived from the company’s accumulated profit and will be utilized to augment the firm’s paid-up capital.
In the fiscal year 2022-23, Sonali Aansh reported a remarkable 97% year-on-year profit growth, amounting to Tk2.09 crore, with a diluted earnings per share of Tk3.86. The company’s board has also decided to revalue all its properties and assets, aiming to accurately determine their fair value and record it in the company’s financial books.
As of Tuesday’s trading session, Sonali Aansh Industries’ shares closed at Tk592 each on the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
