US-Bangla Airlines, a prominent private carrier in the country, has expanded its fleet with the addition of the 10th ATR 72-600, as the new aircraft touched down at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).
The newly acquired ATR 72-600, boasting 78 seats, was purchased with the airline’s internal financing. This addition brings the total fleet size to 21 aircraft, including eight Boeing 737-800, ten ATR 72-600, and three Dash8-Q400.
The official reception of the aircraft took place at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, where US-Bangla Airlines’ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Captain Lutfor Rahman officially received the aircraft.
Arriving from Blagnac Airport in France via Cairo International Airport in Egypt to Dubai in the UAE, the new aircraft received a ceremonial water cannon salute at the airport before its formal acceptance.
Valued at approximately Taka 283 crore in the current market, the ATR 72-600 has been developed in collaboration with Airbus. Typically utilized for regional routes, the ATR aircraft model is employed by various carriers worldwide, including IndiGo, Wings Air, Air New Zealand, Bangkok Airways, and Iran Air.
With this latest addition, US-Bangla Airlines aims to expand its operations on diverse domestic routes and include Kolkata in its future plans.
US-Bangla Airlines presently operates regular flights on all domestic routes and international destinations, including Kolkata, Chennai, Male, Muscat, Doha, Dubai, Sharjah, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Guangzhou.
