Qatar has expressed its willingness to contribute to the development of media and the establishment of global media initiatives in Bangladesh. This commitment was conveyed during a meeting between Mohammad Ali Arafat, the State Minister for Information and Broadcasting of Bangladesh, and Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Thani Al-Thani, the Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Media Corporation, in Turkey on Saturday afternoon, according to an official release.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Islamic Conference of Information Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states in Istanbul. Arafat and Al-Thani engaged in productive discussions on fostering mutual cooperation, drawing from the experience of creating global media entities like Al Jazeera, as highlighted in the release.
The officials also reached an understanding on the exchange of knowledge and experience in the media sector and cultural arena between Bangladesh and Qatar. Both parties expressed optimism that this collaboration would contribute to the further development of bilateral relations between the two countries.
