Pinar van der Vegt, Head of Sales, and Mike Hennessy, Business Development Manager at Magic, engaged in discussions with Faruque Hassan, President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA). The meeting, held at the BGMEA Complex in Dhaka on March 2, centered around potential collaboration to explore market opportunities in the United States.
The discussions focused on various issues concerning Bangladesh’s garment industry, with a specific emphasis on expanding garment exports to the US market. The parties also delved into the participation of Bangladeshi exporters in an upcoming apparel exhibition organized by Sourcing at Magic in Las Vegas in August 2024.
During the meeting, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan was briefed on the exhibition’s features and strategic approaches to showcasing the strength of Bangladesh’s ready-made garment sector to potential US buyers, particularly those who are not currently sourcing from Bangladesh.
Faruque Hassan highlighted the importance of promoting Bangladesh as a safe and sustainable sourcing destination for US buyers. Both parties agreed to collaborate in facilitating the participation of BGMEA member factories in the exhibition, aiming to establish robust business relationships with potential buyers in the US market.
