Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed field-level administration to take strong action against illegal hoarders of commodities and ensure a smooth supply of essential items to consumers during the upcoming month of Ramadan.
PM emphasized the need to address the issue of some businesses attempting to make extra profits during Ramadan by hoarding essentials and raising prices. Sheikh Hasina issued these directives while inaugurating the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference-2024 at her office in the city.
The conference, attended by Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of districts, will continue for four days and focuses on various administrative aspects, including ensuring essential goods reach the public smoothly during Ramadan. The Prime Minister urged the officials to monitor market situations intensively and prevent consumers from facing harassment.
