Bearish Market Slams Over 300 Companies yet Volatility Continues

Dhaka Stock Exchange DSE, Bourse on the second working day of the week, March 19th, ended with a Massive Drop in Index and Turnover from the previous working session. This information is known from DSE sources.

On February 27th, Tuesday, the DSEX index stood at 6272 points. However, as of March 19th, Tuesday, the DSEX points have experienced a decline to 5814 points, reflecting a decrease of 458 points over the course of 14 working days.

Additionally on 20th May 2021 DSEX’s lowest point was recorded at 5,813 points, after nearly 34 months DSEX hit its lowest of 5,814 points today.

465 crore 54 lakh taka shares were traded on this day. 21 crore 12 lahks less tradings were done in DSE today compared to the previous workday, 18th March, Shares worth Tk 486 crores 67 lakh shares were traded last time, Monday.

The benchmark DSEX lost 84.13 points or 5,814 The Shariah-based index DSES dropped 17.86 points or 1,268, and the blue-chip index DS30 decreased by 22.50 points or 2,020.

Of the issues traded, 41 advanced, 319 declined and 36 remained unchanged.

Central Pharmaceuticals Limited ranked top gainer on DSE, the share price increased by Tk 200 paisa or 7.72 percent. On this day, the share was last traded at Tk 27.90 paisa.

Peoples Leasing & Finance Services Limited ranked top loser on the DSE, the share price dropped by Tk 0.50 paisa or 10.00 percent. On this day, the share was last traded at Tk 4.50 paisa. Additionally Robi Axiata Limited also ranked top loser on the DSE, the share price dropped by Tk 3.00 paisa or 10.00 percent. On this day. the share price was last traded at Tk 27 paisa.

DSE topped on trade is Asiatic Laboratories Limited 40 crore 65 lakh takas of shares of the company have been traded.

A total of 34 companies’ shares were traded in the Block on the Dhaka Stock Exchange, 35 lakh 59 thousand 391 shares of the companies were traded. The financial value of which is 15 crore 98 lakh taka.
