JCI Bangladesh

Under the initiative of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bangladesh, an event titled ‘Fire Safety Awareness Training and Drill’ was organized to educate about immediate actions in fire emergencies.

On Saturday (March 23), a training program was conducted at Southeast University’s Milonayoton in Tejgaon, where more than three hundred members and participants of JCI Bangladesh were present. The event was inaugurated by M. Saleh Uddin, Deputy Director of Dhaka Division of Fire Service and Civil Defense. Special guests included Imran Kadir, the 2024 President of JCI Bangladesh.

Renowned trainer Mahmudur Rahman provided training on fire safety and prevention. The entire event was coordinated by Muhammad Altamis Nabil, the 2024 National Training Commissioner of JCI Bangladesh.

Saleh Uddin praised JCI Bangladesh for such initiatives, stating, “If the general public becomes aware, the risk of fire accidents will significantly decrease. Therefore, it is crucial for everyone to have an understanding of fire safety.” He expressed hope that JCI Bangladesh would continue to organize such events in the future.

JCI Bangladesh President Imran Kadir said, “We have witnessed the emotional deaths of many people in recent fire incidents. This number should not increase. That’s why our initiative focuses on providing clear concepts on fire safety and creating awareness among everyone. JCI Bangladesh works with young people, and it is with them that we will regularly organize such initiatives in various places in the future.”

During the approximately two-hour training and drill session, trainer Mahmudur Rahman advised everyone to stay alert and cautious from their respective positions. Additionally, discussions were held on fire awareness, characteristics of fire, causes of fire outbreaks, techniques for extinguishing fires, and self-protection skills.

Muhammad Altamis Nabil, the 2024 National Training Commissioner of JCI Bangladesh, emphasized the importance of being prepared to deal with accidents in any situation. He stated, “In the event of a fire incident, one should not panic but immediately contact the emergency services of the fire service.”

The event was supported by JCI Dhaka Diplomats, JCI Dhaka Uptown, and JCI Dhaka United. Also present at the event were the presidents of local chapters of JCI, Arafat Kabir, Foyzunnur Akon, and Kamruzzaman Pavel. At the end of the training, everyone present participated in fire extinguishing drills and received direct training on fire suppression techniques.
