During the past week, the two major stock exchanges in Bangladesh, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), remained closed for a consecutive five days in observance of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr and Pohela Boishakh, the Bengali New Year.
The weekly break included a two-day weekend. According to a press release from the DSE and CSE, the holiday period began from last Wednesday, April 10th, and will conclude on the coming Sunday, April 14th, which marks the beginning of trading activities in the stock market on Monday, April 15th.
As per the communication from DSE and CSE, trading hours in the stock market will resume as usual from 10:00 AM to 2:20 PM starting from April 15th. The post-closing session will continue from 2:20 PM to 2:30 PM. However, the office hours for DSE will be from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, while for CSE, it will be from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM during the period.
