There is no hope of improving the blackouts issues before the month of November amid a gas shortage, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said on Monday, 10 October

‘The problem is likely for short time. But I think it is not because the World’s energy issues are not improving,” he said while talking to the media.

“This month, October will be a little difficult. Eventually, it will be a little better from next month.”

Nasrul also said the government has to focus on supplying gas to the industry to save the economy. He urged everyone to be patient under the circumstances.

When asked whether the situation will be normal from November, Nasrul said, “I hope so.” I desired the situation to be better from October. But I don’t see any hope now because the demand in the industry has increased prompting us to reduce gas supply to electricity plants. So, the blackouts situation gotten worse, he said.

According to Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), the highest demand on Sunday was 12,000MW, and the generation was 9,703MW. There was a 2,297MW shortage against the demand.
