Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today presented the National Export Trophy to 77 top exporters for the fiscal year 2021-22, aimed at fostering competition and boosting export earnings.
She handed out the trophies in 32 categories, recognizing outstanding contributions to the country’s export earnings and overall economy, during a ceremony at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium.
Rifat Garments Ltd received the highest honor, the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Export Trophy, for achieving the highest export earnings in the readymade garment (RMG) woven category for the fiscal year 2021-22.
The award-winning exporters were presented with gold, silver, and bronze awards: 28 firms received gold awards, 27 silver, and 21 bronze.
State Minister for Commerce Ahasanul Islam Titu, Parliamentary Standing Committee Chairman on Commerce Tipu Munshi, Commerce Secretary Md Selim Uddin, Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Vice Chairman Md Anwar Hossain, and Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Mahbubul Alam spoke at the event.
Sajid Azad, Director of Rifat Garments Ltd, expressed his gratitude for winning the highest recognition, the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Export Trophy. Additionally, Amrita Makin Islam, Deputy Managing Director of Picard Bangladesh, shared her joy in winning the gold medal for highest export earnings in the leather and leather goods category.
A documentary on the export business was also screened during the function.
