The interim government has named Md Hafizur Rahman, a member of the Bangladesh Competition Commission and former additional secretary, as the new administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI). This decision was formalized by a circular issued by the Ministry of Commerce today, in accordance with Section 17 of the Trade Organizations Act, 2022.
As per the ministry’s directive, Rahman will oversee the federation’s leadership transition by organizing a free and transparent election within the next 120 days, after which the newly elected body will assume control. The development will be reported back to the ministry upon completion of the process.
