Expatriate Bangladeshis sent approximately $1.63 billion in remittances during the first 21 days of September in the fiscal year 2024-2025, according to a report released today by Bangladesh Bank.
Of this total, state-owned and specialised banks facilitated $550 million, while private banks handled $1.08 billion. As of September 21, remittance inflows had already surpassed this figure, and bankers anticipate that the total for the month will exceed $2.2 billion.
