Buses traveling Dhaka’s Mirpur route are to operate under e-ticketing from today, Sunday, 13 November.
Khandkar Enayet Ullah, General Secretary of Bangladesh Road Transport Owners Association, revealed this information at a press conference on Saturday, 12 November.
Nearly 60 companies’ Buses traveling in the capital will switch to e-ticketing from 31 January, while 97 companies’ buses for Dhaka and its suburbs will switch over to e-ticketing from 28 February, he added.
The reason being pushed through this is that it will end the unequal competition in ticketing. Contractual vehicle movements will also be stopped. Another reason is to bring transport workers under a regularised payroll system.
All should come under e-ticketing, Enayet Ullah concluded.
