The fourth dose of the vaccine to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Bangladesh is starting today. This vaccination will be given simultaneously across the country from 9 am on Tuesday (December 20).
According to the Department of Health, the 4th dose of corona vaccine can be taken from city corporations, medical colleges, districts and upazila hospitals across the country. Ages over 60s suffering from various complex diseases and pregnant women will get this vaccine. Those who have been four months since taking the third dose can take the fourth dose.
Director of the Expanded Immunization Program (EPI) of the Department of Health Dr. Shamsul Haque said that the fourth dose will be administered along with the other doses in every center across the country. All preparations for the vaccination program have been completed.
It is to be noted that on January 27, 2021, the application of corona vaccine was started in the country for the first time. A second dose was started in April of the same year. Then booster dose was started on July 19 this year. So far, more than 14 crore people have been covered by the first dose of the vaccine. Apart from this, 12.5 million people have received the second dose and more than 60 million people have received the booster dose.
