ACC: Anti-Corruption Commission demands information about WASA Managing Director Taqseem A Khan’s wealth in the US.
“We will write to the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) about his wealth in the US. The BFIU will take further measures,” ACC Chairman Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah told to the news media.
Taqseem, who has been WASA’s MD for 13 years, has allegedly amassed huge illegal wealth and bought 14 residences in the US, according to two separate complaints filed with the ACC.
When asked, the ACC Chairman said, “I’m yet to read the report. The allegations may have some strong basis.”
There are 3 separate enquiries against Taqseem pending with the ACC. “The new allegations will be added to the ongoing enquiries,” he said, adding there is no need to launch another enquiry.
“If the latest information requires help from the US, we will seek out help,” he added.
