Japanese Ambassador Iwama Kiminori expressed Japan’s strong inclination to significantly increase its investment in Bangladesh in the near future.
During a courtesy visit to the office of Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday (22 May), Ambassador Kiminori emphasized the enduring friendship between Japan and Bangladesh, assuring that this positive trajectory will continue in the years ahead. He highlighted the significant developments that took place during and after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s recent visit to Japan.
Ambassador Kiminori’s statements were echoed by Finance Minister Kamal, who emphasized that Japan has been a steadfast friend of Bangladesh, contributing significantly to its socio-economic progress. Minister Kamal further proposed elevating the bilateral partnership to a strategic level, given Bangladesh’s current economic advancements.
Both parties emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation on various matters of shared interest, and a range of topics related to their countries’ mutual interests were discussed during the meeting.
