The government has announced an increase in the price of salted cowhide in Dhaka, surpassing last year’s rate by 3 taka per square foot. The new price has been set at 50-55 taka, compared to last year’s range of 47-52 taka. The decision was made during a meeting held by the Ministry of Commerce on Sunday (June 25) at 11:00 AM. After the meeting, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi declared the revised price. Outside Dhaka, the price of cowhide has been fixed at 45-48 taka per square foot, whereas last year it ranged from 40-44 taka.
In Dhaka, the price of goat hide has been set at 18-20 taka per square foot, while the price of sheepskin has been fixed at 12-14 taka per square foot. The prices for goat and sheepskin will remain the same both within and outside Dhaka.
