Global Covid-19 cases now exceeds 691 million

The total number of Covid-19 cases worldwide has exceeded 691 million, according to the latest global data. The death toll has reached 6,898,483 as of July 10, marking a significant global impact of the pandemic. The United States holds the highest count with 107,356,628 confirmed cases, along with 1,168,502 deaths. Similarly, India reports a total of 32 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing their total to 4,49,94,575 cases, with a death toll of 5,31,913.

France and Germany occupy the third and fourth positions in terms of total Covid-19 cases globally. France has recorded 40,138,560 cases, while Germany has reported 38,428,685 cases. Tragically, France has witnessed 167,642 deaths, and Germany has lost 174,352 lives to the virus, as per Worldometer statistics.

Turning our attention to Bangladesh, the country has reported an additional 76 Covid-19 cases within a span of 24 hours. With this increase, Bangladesh’s total caseload stands at 2,043,161, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). Fortunately, no new fatalities were reported, keeping the official death toll unchanged at 29,462. The daily case test positivity rate rose to 4.42%, compared to the previous day’s 3.23%, based on the testing of 1,720 samples. The recovery rate remains at a promising 98.37%, with the death rate holding steady at 1.44%.
