Weekly Bourses Surge amid Market Cap dropped significantly

Weekly Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSE, Dhaka Bourse has seen a hike in Turnover, Index amid drops in Market Capitalization. This information was disclosed in the weekly market review from the DSE.

According to sources, (5 working days) the turnover of DSE added by Tk 671 crore 47 lakh 44 thousand 872 (9 July – 13 July). At the same time, the market capitalization has lost by 10 thousand 135 crore 54 lakh 66 thousand 379 taka.

The benchmark index ‘DSEX’ added by 6.31 points or 0.10 percent, in the outgoing week. At the end of the week, the index stands at 6,341 points. The Shariah-based index ‘DSES’ gained 4.16 points or 0.30 percent and therefore the index stands at 1,379 points. The blue-chip index ‘DS30’ increased 5.56 points or 0.25 percent, hence the index stands at 2,197 points.

Shares and units worth 4 thousand 257 crore 22 lakh 27 thousand 27 taka were traded in Dhaka Stock Exchange. At the end of the week, the market capitalization stood at 7 lakh 61 thousand 195 crore 51 lakh 6 thousand 708 taka.

Shares and units of 403 companies were traded on Bourse during the week. Of these, 194 shares were unchanged, 23 companies declined, and 70 companies advanced.

Progressive Life Insurance Co. Limited has ranked at the top of weekly losers on DSE. It is known the share traded a total of Tk 9 crore 21 lakh 71 thousand, which is an average of 1 crore 84 lakh 34 thousand 200 shares per day. The share has dropped 15.54 percent lowest in the last week.
