Q1 Financials: In the first quarter of 2023 (January-March 23), the Company reported a net deficit of Tk 308.24 million in its consolidated life revenue account. This figure represents the excess of total expenses, including claims, over total income during the three-month period. The company’s financial performance in the same period of the previous year (2022) showed a comparatively lower deficit of Tk 304.36 million.

As a result of the challenging financial situation, the Balance of Life Insurance Fund, as of March 31, 2023, decreased to Tk 6,914.29 million. This marks a significant decline from the corresponding figure of Tk 7,254.19 million recorded on March 31, 2022, signaling a net decrease of Tk 339.90 million over the year.

Q2 Financials: the Company showed signs of improvement in the second quarter (April-June 23), as the excess of total expenses, including claims, over total income (deficit) decreased to Tk 36.51 million. This figure stands in stark contrast to the deficit of Tk 225.13 million recorded in the corresponding period of 2022.

During the first half of 2023, from January to June, the company’s financial performance also exhibited a positive trend. The excess of total expenses, including claims, over total income (deficit) for this period was Tk 355.34 million, which is significantly lower than the deficit of Tk 546.08 million recorded in the same period of the previous year.

As of June 30, 2023, the Balance of Life Insurance Fund was reported to be Tk 6,864.73 million. This figure reflects a decrease from Tk 7,001.83 million, the balance recorded on June 30, 2022, resulting in a net decrease of Tk 137.10 million
