DSE Witnessed a Week of Uncertainty and Unease

Weekly Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSE, Dhaka Bourse has seen a massive drop in Turnover, Index on the other hand Market Capitalization showed a gaining performance. This information was disclosed in the weekly market review from the DSE.

According to sources, (5 working days) the turnover of DSE dropped by Tk 292 crore 82 lakh (30 July – 3 August). At the same time, the market capitalization has gained by 17 thousand 471 crore 70 lakh 91 thousand 188 taka.

The benchmark index ‘DSEX’ lost by 9.65 points or 0.15 percent, in the outgoing week. At the end of the week, the index stands at 6,329 points. The Shariah-based index ‘DSES’ dropped 1.03 points or 0.07 percent and therefore the index stands at 1,372 points. The blue-chip index ‘DS30’ decreased 7.34 points or 0.34 percent, hence the index stands at 2,152 points.

Shares and units worth 2 thousand 963 crore 86 lakh taka were traded in Dhaka Stock Exchange. At the end of the week, the market capitalization stood at 7 lakh 81 thousand 370 crore 53 lakh 90 thousand 426 taka.

Shares and units of 403 companies were traded on Bourse during the week. Of these, 216 shares were unchanged, 96 companies declined, and 76 companies advanced.

Fu Wang Food Limited has ranked at the top of weekly trading on DSE. It is known that 3 crore 85 lakh 75 thousand 295 shares of the company were traded throughout the week. Its market value is 140 crore 98 lakh takas.

Libra Infusion Limited has ranked at the top of weekly gainers on DSE. It is known that the share traded a total of Tk 13 crore 41 lakh, which is an average of 2 crore 68 lakh per day. The share has risen 15.92 to its highest price.

Meghna Insurance Company Limited has ranked at the top of weekly losers on DSE. It is known the share traded a total of Tk 29 crore 51 lakh, which is an average of 5 crore 90 lakh shares per day. The share has dropped 15.02 percent lowest in the last week.
