High Commissioner Gilbert Shimane Mangole of Botswana, stationed in New Delhi, held a meeting with State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam on Wednesday (August 9), during which the diplomat expressed a strong interest in elevating the trade relations between Botswana and Bangladesh. In this interaction, the High Commissioner commended Bangladesh’s remarkable growth and development over the past decade and a half. Notably, he conveyed Botswana’s eagerness to fortify their trade ties with Bangladesh and put forth the idea of a potential visit by the Botswana Trade Minister in the near future, as relayed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Both the State Minister and the High Commissioner concurred that regular high-level exchanges would play a pivotal role in strengthening both the political and economic bonds between the two nations. A shared commitment was expressed to delve into untapped opportunities and to amplify cooperation, particularly within the agricultural sector. This collaborative approach underscores the mutual drive to further deepen the bilateral relationship.
