Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed the possibility of enhanced engagements between Bangladesh and Pakistan across various sectors, particularly in agriculture, to mutually benefit both nations. During a meeting with outgoing Pakistan High Commissioner Imran Ahmed Siddiqi at her official residence, Ganabhaban, Prime Minister Hasina emphasized the importance of cooperation in the modern era, especially considering the aspirations of the new generations.
In her discussion with the press secretary, Ihsanul Karim, Prime Minister Hasina underscored her government’s commitment to advancing Bangladesh’s socio-economic development, with a strong focus on the agricultural sector. She highlighted significant efforts in agricultural research, which have yielded positive results. Furthermore, she suggested potential collaboration between the Agriculture Research Centers of both countries in the field of agricultural research.
The Prime Minister expressed her gratitude to the Pakistan High Commissioner for his successful tenure in Bangladesh. During their meeting, the High Commissioner commended Bangladesh’s remarkable achievements in the socio-economic sphere, emphasizing the visible progress in the country. He noted the goodwill of the people of Pakistan towards the enterprising people of Bangladesh.
Additionally, the discussion touched upon cricket as a topic of mutual interest. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary M. Tofazzel Hossain Miah and Foreign Secretary (Senior Secretary) Masud Bin Momen.
