WHO Director-General Commends Bangladesh's Healthcare Development Initiatives

Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen has revealed that the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, highly commended the Bangladeshi government’s efforts to enhance the overall healthcare sector and provide healthcare services to all citizens.

During a media briefing on the sidelines of the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session, Dr. Momen stated that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s initiative of community health clinics, which offer more than 30 free medicines, has played a significant role in reducing child and maternal mortality rates in Bangladesh and increasing average life expectancy. He added that Bangladesh is willing to share its healthcare experiences and expertise with other nations.
