Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Faruque Hassan has emphasized the potential for readymade garment exports to Brunei Darussalam during discussions with Brunei Darussalam’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Haji Haris Bin Haji Othman.
The talks, which took place at the BGMEA office in the capital, revolved around various aspects of mutual interest, including trade and investment opportunities. Both parties acknowledged the substantial prospects for cooperation in these areas and recognized the positive impact such collaboration could have on both nations.
Faruque Hassan, in particular, highlighted the significant opportunity for expanding readymade garment exports to Brunei Darussalam. He stressed the industry’s growing emphasis on developing manufacturing capabilities for high-value garments and expanding its presence in both traditional and emerging markets. To this end, Faruque sought the High Commissioner’s cooperation in exploring avenues to boost garment exports to Brunei Darussalam, emphasizing that harnessing trade and investment opportunities would be mutually beneficial.
