Bangladesh is observing a Day of Mourning today, October 21, 2023, to pay tribute to the Palestinians who lost their lives in recent Israeli attacks.
All government, semi-government, autonomous, and private institutions, as well as Bangladesh missions abroad, are lowering the national flag to half-mast as a mark of respect during this mourning day.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced this observance during a program held at Sarak Bhaban in Dhaka’s Tejgaon on Thursday.
The recent Israeli attacks have resulted in over 1,400 casualties in Israel, primarily civilians, during the conflict, and more than 4,100 people have lost their lives in Gaza, according to reports from the Health Ministry run by Hamas, as reported by AP.
