Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, currently on a three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia, undertook the holy Umrah pilgrimage in Makkah on Monday (6 November) morning. Accompanied by her younger sister Sheikh Rehana, the Prime Minister performed the Umrah and offered prayers at the sacred Masjid Al Haram.
During this spiritual journey, prime Minister Sheikh Hasina prayed for the enduring peace, prosperity, and progress of the Muslim Ummah, including Bangladesh and its people. Notably, Foreign Minister Dr. A.K Abdul Momen, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Private Industry and Investment Salman Fazlur Rahman, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam, State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira, and other members of the entourage also participated in the holy Umrah.
Following this significant religious act, the Prime Minister joined the congregation for the Fazr prayers at the revered Masjid-al Haram. Earlier, she departed from Madina via air and arrived in Jeddah, continuing her journey to Makkah by road.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official visit to Saudi Arabia is scheduled to conclude with her return home on Wednesday morning.
