The Election Commission (EC) has recently launched a new app, named ‘Smart Election Management BD,’ to serve as a repository of information for the assurance of a ‘Smart Bangladesh.’ The app provides detailed information such as voter numbers, polling center names, candidate details, party information, and constituency-based data. Additionally, it includes legal aspects, voting rates, and various other election-related statistics. Users can also access images of polling centers and geographic location maps.
This app enables citizens to access comprehensive election information, including details about all seats in every division of the country. Furthermore, it offers information about any candidate’s affidavit, income tax-related details, election expenses, and personal asset declarations. The app also features a list of registered participating parties in the election.
According to sources, the app has four main sections: Home, Information, Results, and Analysis. The Home section provides personalized voter information, the Information button reveals details about polling centers, candidates, and party-specific information. The Results section displays election outcomes, while the Analysis section offers various analytical insights related to the elections. Currently, the app provides data from the 11th and 12th elections.
The Election Commission has stated that starting a few days before the upcoming January 7th election, all pertinent election information will be available on the app. Even on the day of the election, results will be updated every two hours. EC Secretary Md Jahangir Alam mentioned that the relevant Presiding Officer will upload information to the app every two hours.
The ‘Smart Election Management BD’ app has been developed with technical support from Bangladesh’s tech giant company, Penta Global.
