The World Economic Forum (WEF) has extended an invitation to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to attend its 54th annual meeting in Davos-Klisters, Switzerland, from January 15-19. WEF Executive Chairman Professor Klaus Schwab congratulated Prime Minister Hasina on her party’s historic win in the 12th National Elections.
In a message, Schwab expressed wishes for continued success in her new tenure and highlighted the forum’s interest in working closely with Sheikh Hasina and her government to support Bangladesh’s growth potential. The theme of the annual meeting is “Rebuilding Trust,” and Schwab looks forward to engaging with Prime Minister Hasina in this effort.
Over 100 governments, major international organizations, global companies, civil society, academic institutions, and the media are expected to participate at the highest level. Schwab praised Bangladesh’s economic and social standing, attributing it to bold reforms under Prime Minister Hasina’s leadership, and expressed confidence in Bangladesh achieving developed country status by 2041.
