Dense fog at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport led to the diversion of eleven flights today. Between 4:16 am and 10:16 am, these flights were redirected to airports in Hyderabad, Sylhet, Chittagong, and Kolkata.
Group Captain Kamrul Islam, the executive director of Dhaka airport, reported that the flights began returning to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:45 am as weather conditions improved. The Bangladesh Meteorologist Department (DMD) forecasts the possibility of rain in isolated areas across Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions on Thursday, January 18.
