The 28th edition of the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) is slated to commence on Sunday at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre (BBCFEC) in Purbachal, located 16.6 kilometers east of Dhaka, the capital city. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to inaugurate the month-long event, affirming the significance of trade and commerce in the region.
Organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) since 1995, the DITF serves as a prominent platform for local and foreign companies to showcase their products. This year’s fair, running from January 21 to February 20, was rescheduled due to the 12th national elections, deviating from its usual January 1 commencement.
Operating daily from 10 am to 9 pm and extending hours until 10 pm on weekends, the fair is open to the public with an entry fee of Tk 40 for adults and Tk 20 for children. To facilitate general visitors, BRTC buses have been arranged from Farmgate and Kuril Biswa Road to transport attendees to the fair premises.
A total of 330 stalls, including 23 pavilions and 27 mini pavilions, have been allotted for participants. Additionally, 15 food stalls offering a variety of categories will be available, adding a culinary dimension to the trade fair. The DITF serves as a vital avenue for businesses to foster connections, showcase innovations, and contribute to the growth of the region’s trade and economy.
