Met Warns of Heat Wave Extension

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted that the ongoing mild to moderate heat wave affecting Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, as well as the districts of Nilphamari and Netrokona, may extend over the next 24 hours starting from 9 am today.

According to the weather bulletin, the weather is expected to remain predominantly dry with intermittent partly cloudy conditions across the country. Daytime temperatures are likely to remain relatively stable, while nighttime temperatures may experience a slight increase nationwide.

On Saturday, the country registered a maximum temperature of 40.0 degrees Celsius in Rangamati, while today’s minimum temperature was recorded at 20.4 degrees Celsius in Tetulia.
