Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the newly constructed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Battery Complex at Halishahar Cantonment in Chittagong on Sunday, April 21.
The complex, located at the Artillery Center and School in Halishahar Cantonment, was inaugurated by the prime minister.
Following the inauguration, she visited the Artillery Museum established within the complex.
During her visit, she observed a sculpture of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, which was installed at the museum.
She also viewed the historic 3.7-inch howitzer that fired the first shot of the Mujib Battery during the War of Liberation, along with the ammunition used in the artillery regiment and replicas of all the cannons. Additionally, she learned about the glorious history of the artillery forces’ remarkable operations during the Liberation War.
