The Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (Bajus) announced today, 25 May, a decrease in the price of gold by Tk 1,283 per bhori, following a decline in the local bullion market. The new price for 22-carat gold is now set at Tk 1,17,176 per bhori.
Additionally, the price for 21-carat gold has been adjusted to Tk 1,11,846 per bhori, 18-carat gold to Tk 95,866 per bhori, and the traditional gold price to Tk 79,256 per bhori.
These new rates will be effective from Sunday, 26 May, as per a Bajus press release issued today.
However, buyers should note that a 5% VAT will be added to the Bajus fixed price for gold jewelry, along with a 6% making charge per bhori.
Throughout May, the apex body of gold traders has adjusted the gold price six times, increasing it six times and decreasing it twice.
