Police will seek remand for Anisul Huq and Salman F. Rahman today, though the exact number of days is still uncertain, a Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) official informed The Business Standard. The duo is expected to be presented in court by 2 PM.

Salman F. Rahman, a former adviser to recently ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and former Law Minister Anisul Huq were taken into custody, according to a DMP official. The arrest took place yesterday (13 August).

The two were apprehended in the Sadarghat area of the capital during an alleged escape attempt, police said. The arrest was made in connection with a case filed at New Market Police Station, confirmed by DMP Commissioner Mainul Hasan to The Business Standard yesterday (13 August).
