The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted light to moderate rainfall, with chances of moderately heavy showers, across all eight divisions of the country over the next 24 hours, starting from 9 am today. The weather bulletin, released this morning, also indicated the possibility of temporary gusty winds accompanying the rain.
According to the forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected in many areas of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. Additionally, isolated showers may occur in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions, with the potential for moderately heavy rainfall in some parts of the country.
Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country, as stated in the bulletin.
On Sunday, the highest temperature in the country was recorded at 35.5 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga, Jashore district, while today’s minimum temperature was 24.8 degrees Celsius, observed in Dinajpur, Rangpur division. The rainfall recorded over the last 24 hours up to 6 am today was 59 mm in Cumilla.
