Early morning rainfall in the capital has led to significant waterlogging in several areas, severely disrupting traffic flow. The downpour has left roads in Dhanmondi, Mirpur, Adabar, Kathalbagan, Shewrapara, Malibagh, West Tejturi Bazar, Bangshal, Bakshibazar, Tejgaon, Tejkunipara, and Bashundhara submerged under knee-deep water, causing extensive traffic congestion.
Commuters, including office workers and students, are facing severe difficulties navigating through the flooded streets. The situation is particularly dire in Karwan Bazar, where even rickshaws were seen with seats submerged in waist-deep water.
The Meteorological Department had earlier predicted rain for today across various regions, including Dhaka, Khulna, Chattogram, Barishal, and Sylhet. While Dhaka experienced light showers yesterday afternoon and sporadic rain overnight, the heavy downpour began around dawn, exacerbating the waterlogging issue.
