Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, was ranked third among the cities with the highest level of air pollution globally on June 10.

As the morning unfolded, the air quality in Dhaka remained in the ‘unhealthy’ category, as indicated by an air quality index (AQI) score of 155 at 9:07 am. An AQI range of 101 to 200 is deemed ‘unhealthy’, especially for individuals who are more susceptible to respiratory issues.

Topping the list were Lahore in Pakistan and Tel Aviv in Israel, with AQI scores of 168 and 155, respectively. AQI values falling between 201 and 300 are classified as ‘poor’, while readings surpassing 300 are considered ‘hazardous’, posing severe health hazards to the city’s residents.
