Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina unveiled a remarkable compilation titled “Bhayera Amar (My Brothers)” at the commencement of the Cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister’s office.
The book contains 200 powerful speeches delivered by the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. PM Hasina, who personally named the book, also penned its introduction.
The collection, meticulously compiled and edited by PM’s speech writer M Nazrul Islam, is published by Genius Publications. It encompasses all available speeches of Bangabandhu, making it a significant archival treasure. Over a hundred speeches were sourced from audio tapes/CDs obtained from the archives of Bangladesh Betar, with each speech duly verified for accuracy and reliability.
The book emphasizes key excerpts from each speech, presented separately, while an index provides details of the content, year, and date of each speech. A press release from the PMO Press Wing described the speeches of Bangabandhu, revered as the greatest Bengali ever born, as invaluable not only to Bangladesh but also to the world.
In her introduction, Prime Minister Hasina underscored the importance of not only reading Bangabandhu’s speeches but also comprehending their essence and embodying it in one’s own life, particularly for the new generation, Awami League leaders, activists, and supporters. She reiterated Bangabandhu’s vision of building a golden Bangladesh and emphasized the necessity of practicing his ideals and lifestyle to become the golden citizens he envisioned.
Nazrul, the editor of the book, highlighted that the comprehensive collection of speeches would serve as essential reference material for politicians, teachers, researchers, students, and future generations alike. The unveiling of “Bhayera Amar” marks a significant milestone in preserving the inspiring words of Bangabandhu, a guiding light for the nation.
