Inaugurating 50 newly constructed model mosques and Islamic cultural centers in the country’s fifth phase, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed concern over the recent violence unleashed by the opposition party BNP. Referring to the torching of several buses during their protests, the Prime Minister condemned BNP’s use of arson as a political tool. She accused BNP of exploiting religion for their political gains and stated that their actions lacked sincerity towards religious causes.
Highlighting the past incidents of violence instigated by BNP, PM urged the public to stay vigilant against such acts of terrorism that could harm the nation’s progress. The government’s ongoing initiative to build 564 district and upazila-level model mosques at a considerable cost reflects its commitment to religious infrastructure development.
With the successful completion of 250 mosques so far, the government remains steadfast in its efforts to enhance religious facilities throughout the country. The Prime Minister’s virtual inaugural ceremony from Ganabhaban marks another step towards fostering a harmonious and culturally enriched society.
