PM Releases Commemorative Stamp on Kamal’s Birth Anniversary

Hasina PM Sheikh PM to Declare 12 More Districts Landless, Homeless-Free This Wednesday

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina honored the valiant freedom fighter Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal on his 74th birth anniversary by releasing a special commemorative postage stamp and a first-day cover on Saturday (August 5). Sheikh Kamal was the eldest son of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The ceremony, held at the official residence Ganabhaban, witnessed the unveiling of a Tk 10 postage stamp, a souvenir sheet featuring three stamps of Tk 40 each, a first-day cover priced at Tk 10, and a data card valued at Taka 5. To mark this momentous occasion, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina used a special canceller. The event was graced by the presence of Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar, Secretary Abu Hena Morshed Zaman, and Director General of Directorate of Posts Md Harunur Rashid. Starting today, the commemorative postage stamp and first-day cover will be available for purchase at the Philatelic Bureau of Dhaka GPO, and later at other GPOs and head post offices nationwide.
