In a significant move, the government has announced the replacement of the Digital Security Act with the Cyber Security Act 2023. This decisive shift, which involves the amendment of certain sections of the existing legislation, was confirmed by the Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Anisul Huq.
Following a pivotal meeting convened by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and presided over by the Cabinet Division, this landmark decision was reached. Notably, the cabinet granted preliminary approval to the draft of the new act, marking a crucial step in this legislative transition.
