In August of the fiscal year 2023-24, expatriate Bangladeshis sent a substantial sum of $1,599.45 million in remittances to their homeland.
Data from the Bangladesh Bank (BB) reveals that state-owned banks facilitated the transfer of $183.19 million, while a total of 43 private sector banks contributed significantly with $1,376.02 million in remittances during the same period.
Notably, the highest influx of remittances, amounting to $340.17 million, was channeled through Islami Bank Bangladesh, underscoring its prominent role in facilitating international fund transfers.
