The state-run Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) is set to commence the sale of essential commodities at subsidized rates for the month of September. Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi will officially inaugurate this operation at the Indira Road Krira Chaktra Math (T and T Math), located near Khamar Bari Farmgate, Thursday, September 14th at 10 am.
Around one crore cardholder families across the country will have the opportunity to purchase subsidized lentils, edible oil, and rice. Beneficiaries will access these essential items through designated distribution points in their respective areas.
Each cardholder is entitled to purchase two liters of soybean oil, two kilograms of lentils, one kilogram of sugar, and five kilograms of rice. The Directorate General of Food initiated the sale of subsidized rice last month, allowing each family to acquire a maximum of five kilograms of rice.
