In response to the rising cost of this essential commodity, the government has established a fixed retail price of Tk 12 per egg, as announced by Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi during a press conference at the commerce ministry.
Additionally, the government has taken the decision to permit egg imports should local market prices fail to decrease. Ministry officials will closely monitor the market over the next one to two days, and if egg prices stabilize at Tk 12 per piece, the option to allow imports will be reconsidered, stated Minister Munshi.
Furthermore, the price of bottled soybean oil has been reduced from Tk 174 per liter to Tk 169 per liter. The government has also established price ranges for potatoes at Tk 35-Tk 36 per kilogram and onions at Tk 64-Tk 65 per kilogram.
