Index Hikes as Turnover Shrinks on DSE

Dhaka Stock Exchange DSE, Bourses on the last working day of the week, January 19, ended with price index hikes & turnover drops.

590 crores 67 lakh shares were traded in DSE on this day. 343 crores 61 Lakh less trading was done in DSE today compared to the previous workday, 18 January, Shares worth Tk 934 crores 29 lakh shares were traded in DSE last time, Wednesday.

The benchmark index DSEX hiked 7.27 points or 6,265. The Shariah-based index DSES increased 0.35 points or 1,367, and the blue-chip index DS30 shed 1.81 points or 2,208.

Of the issues traded, 76 advanced, 100 declined, and 184 remained unchanged.

IT Consultants Limited ranked top gainer on DSE, the share price increased by Tk 3.5 paisa or 10 percent. On this day, the share was last traded at Tk 38.50 paisa.

On the other hand, Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited ranked top loser on the DSE, the share price dropped by Tk 0.9 paisa or 2.63 percent. On this day, the share was last traded at Tk 33.10 paisa.

DSE topped on trade Genex Infosys Limited, 49 crores 554 lakh 54 thousand takas of shares of the company have been traded.

A total of 63 companies’ shares were traded in the Block on Dhaka Stock Exchange, 77 lakh 7 thousand 786 shares of the companies were traded. The financial value of which is 70 crore 53 lakh taka.

On the other hand, DSE-SME (Small & Medium Enterprises) Index increased to 11.90 points which now stood at 1259 points. The total turnover stops by the end of the day at 2 crore 46 lakh.

ATB (Alternate Trading Board) Platform, LankaBangla Securities Limited turnover stood at 4 crore 51 lakh.

The benchmark DSEX added 34.95 points or 5,727 The Shariah-based index DSES gained 10.51 points or 1,261, and the blue-chip index DS30 increased by 13.35 points or 2,046.

Of the issues traded, 252 advanced, 86 declined and 58 remained unchanged.

Esquare Knit Composite PLC Limited ranked top gainer on DSE, the share price increased by Tk 2.20 paisa or 10.00 percent. On this day, the share was last traded at Tk 24.20 paisa.

Shyamour Sugar Mills Limited ranked top loser on the DSE, the share price dropped by Tk 5.30 paisa or 2.99 percent. On this day, the share was last traded at Tk 171.80 paisa.

DSE topped on trade is Orion Infusion Limited 45 crore 37 lakh takas of company shares have been traded.

A total of 48 companies’ shares were traded in the Block on Dhaka Stock Exchange. A total of 12 crore 95 lakh 90 thousand 855 shares of the companies were traded. The financial value of which is 137 crore 67 lakh taka
