Met Forecasts Showers and Gusty Winds Across the Country

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds in various parts of the country over the next 24 hours from 9:00 am today (25 February).

According to a bulletin from the meteorological office, the anticipated precipitation is likely to occur in one or two places across Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, and Sylhet divisions. The rest of the country is expected to experience mainly dry conditions with a temporary partly cloudy sky.

The bulletin also mentioned a slight decrease of (1-2) degrees Celsius in night temperatures, while day temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged nationwide.

On Saturday, the maximum temperature reached 31.2 degrees Celsius in Cumilla, Chattogram division. The minimum temperature recorded today is 13.0 degrees Celsius in Tetulia, Rangpur division.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours, until 6 am today, was reported at 28 millimeters (mm) in Bogura, Rajshahi division.

In the capital, the sun is set to set at 5:59 pm today and rise at 6:24 am tomorrow.

Nation to observe Holy Shab-e-Barat Tonight

The holy night of Shab-e-Barat, known as the night of fortune, will be observed nationwide tonight with profound religious fervor and devotion. The Islamic Foundation (IF) has organized programs at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, including religious sermons (waz) and doa-mahfils.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina extended greetings to Muslims worldwide on this occasion. The rest of the country may experience mainly dry weather with a temporary partly cloudy sky. The bulletin also anticipates a rise in both night and day temperatures by 1-2 degrees Celsius across the country.

On Friday, the maximum temperature recorded in the country was 31.2 degrees Celsius at Teknaf in the Chattogram division, while today’s minimum temperature of 09 degrees Celsius was recorded at Tetulia in the Rangpur division. The sun is expected to set at 5:58 pm today and rise at 6:25 am tomorrow in the capital.
